I have the gut feeling that new forms of energy, such as wind power, face more resistance than old established ones, like fossil energy sources. For example, recently the city council of Rovaniemi in Finland decided that wind turbines cannot be built upon a waste dump, but is supporting the building of a new hydroelectric power plant flooding the shores of Kemijoki.

Do you know literature that would support of reject my "hypothesis"?
