I have the gut feeling that new forms of energy, such as wind power, face more resistance than old established ones, like fossil energy sources. For example, recently the city council of Rovaniemi in Finland decided that wind turbines cannot be built upon a waste dump, but is supporting the building of a new hydroelectric power plant flooding the shores of Kemijoki.
Do you know literature that would support of reject my "hypothesis"?
Yes wind energy has more disadvantages but I still think it can be improved such as working with zero blades turbine to Minnie the noise and adding a second rotor to increase the energy output. In general I think it depends on the region where the renewable energy device is used
I must clearly clarify my question. My feeling is that new energy forms are being subjected to stricter requirements than those of the established ones. We accept that the chimneys and fuel stacks of coal plants are visible and the noice from fuel transports, we accept that the dams of hydroelectric power plants will flood large areas of land, but wind farms should be invisible and totally silent.
