Your question is vague. Molecular IR excitations can happen with any type of hybridization.
Can you please explain better, perhaps with examples to help make your question more specific.
Molecular vibrations are mostly delocalized in the sense that usually several atoms take part in it. (Even in stretching vibrations). Therefore is is not really meaningful to ask what kind of atoms take part in certain vibrations. Please tell us somewhat more about the problem because of which you asked the question.
