Over the past 2 million years the Earth has become colder and more unstable, cold periods alternating with hot periods. We are currently in a warm period that began approximately 10,000 years ago due to natural causes. Could the planet become hotter because of man-made global warming or will it become colder again despite the increase in carbon in the atmosphere caused by humanity? Are the ongoing climate changes caused predominantly by natural causes, or does the increase in carbon in the atmosphere from fossil fuels have a greater weight?
