In my view, in the context of the growing global need for sustainability, the development of renewable and zero-carbon energy sources is crucial for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, climate protection and ecosystem biodiversity. To effectively deploy technologies such as wind, solar, geothermal, hydroelectric, hydrogen and nuclear power, it is necessary to focus on several areas that pose challenges for energy systems.

First, the variability of sources such as wind and solar power makes grid stability and management key issues. This implies investment in smart grids and energy demand management technologies. An example of successful efforts in this area is the development of predictive technologies that allow better planning of energy supply based on weather and demand forecasts. In turn, investments in energy storage systems, such as lithium-ion batteries or hydrogen technologies, can offset supply volatility by allowing surplus energy to be stored at times of high production and used during shortages.

Second, the development of zero-carbon energy technologies requires political and regulatory support. Governments can support this development by creating fiscal incentive mechanisms, subsidies and tax credits that stimulate investment in renewable energy sources. Government policies should also focus on facilitating access to infrastructure and innovation for small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as introducing regulations that phase out fossil fuel technologies.

Third, investment in research and development is key to promoting new energy technologies. Technological challenges, such as the cost of hydrogen energy production and the development of nuclear fusion, require strong financial support and international cooperation. An example of such cooperation is the ITER project, which aims to explore the potential of fusion as a future, safe and virtually limitless energy source. This requires continued research support, technology development and the involvement of private investors.

In conclusion, in order to successfully deploy renewable and zero-carbon energy technologies, investment in energy storage, optimization of power grids and the creation of a favorable policy framework are key. Collaboration among researchers, industry and governments will be indispensable in further developing technologies that will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and protect the environment. I, too, believe that research platforms, such as ResearchGate, can support the exchange of knowledge and practices, which will contribute to the global development of the green transformation of the energy sector.
