Does any body have any data on use of Ketamine infusions in human subjects for any reason? I am looking for data on response and adverse effects related with the dose of Ketamine and duration of infusion.
It can be used as an IV sedative in the Emergency Department, especially if you want to avioid drops in BP associated with a Morphine/Midazolam infusion. I’ve also seen it being used by appropriately trained Air Ambulance Parmedic crews for air transfer of patients. It is commonly mixed with a bit of midazolam to help prevent/alleviate emergence delirium and reduce the ketamine requirements, giving more sedation with less impact in blood pressure. It is also used by Anaesthesiologists, particularly and most commonly for washing burn wounds in children.
