Would like to coat the alloy surface with non-organic material to absorb the UV light at 193-248 nm. Please recommend some UV absorbing material. Thanks~
It depends a bit what "the alloy" is and how you want to coat it. Typically for inorganic materials that absorb, you are looking for one with a band-gap below that of your UV light. So most oxides and semiconductors will work for this, Zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, etc. etc. indeed you could simple oxidise or anodise the surface of your allow to have the same effect. Or you can simply reflect it with a metallic coating. You actually have to work rather hard to find materials that will pass UV light at that wavelengths, only quartz comes to mind as suitable to transmit this wavelength.
