I am fabricating a microfluidic device in PMMA material substrate. The device will be used for culturing yeast cells, which would require some oxygen supply. From literature, I found that PDMS devices have high oxygen permeability which allows ambient oxygen to diffuse through thin PDMS walls and enter the cell culture chamber. i would like to know, can the same be achieved with a PMMA device (1 mm thick). What is the oxygen permeability rate of PMMA compared to PDMS?
