any suggestion for using new type of local wood based materials for building sound absorption panels .
local soft wood which is fast growing in southern part of India .is-it possible to use and how sound absorption quality will be ?

Wood based panels also fine. Sandwich panel construction type is a best option for sound and thermal insulation. In my review paper I have given a brief intro about sandwich panel based construction system. Please have a look at it.

Sound absorption is most universally realised by porous materials. Often they consist of mineral wool or plastic foam, but loosely bonded wood chips are a good alternative.
Maybe fast growing (tropical?) types of wood are even better suited than pine wood. I am sorry to say that this is not really new...
ya Ruiter , you are right it may be of old idea but in India we have many soft tree which are remain un used for any purpose . so i have an idea of exploring them and to find a suitable replacement for pine wood .since ,pine wood is costly and not readily available in india

Perforated wood-based panels are commonly used for sound absorbing purposes in the low frequency range (see attachment). So you can also think about realizing wood-based panels using Indian soft trees and than adding sound absorption properties through a surface drilling.
