The term 'industrial management' is more suggestive of a broader context that includes the entire administrative and decision making capital of any public or private sector industrial entity. This is more akin to its corporate strategy. On the other hand, every entity must shape its production and service operations to drive its profitability. This is more akin to its competitive strategy which ensures its survival. The more appropriate term here is 'industrial engineering' or 'production and operations management.' The competitive strategies are based upon analytical procedures since targets and objectives need to be measurable in tangible terms.
