Interesting!  I am working on the parallel and overlaps between Universal Design for Learning and communicative methods approaches in second language acquisition.  Not virtual learning per se, but as you know UDL make extensive use of tech, including sometimes distance learning tools within face to face classrooms. I think you're in uncharted territory here, but hugely interesting.  I'd be interested in following your project.
