I would appreciate insights on alternative indicators to quantify progress of achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 11 (SDG11: Sustainable Cities and Communities).

SDG:11 as focusing on Sustainable cities and communities though embedded smart cities concept with a social and natural ecosystem development. The civic societies amenities not for short term recreation and sanitation but to look for long term sustainable planning. Urban forestry is an key indicator for clean environment from air and noise pollution. Similarly, natural drainage system and rain water harvesting others too.
Manmohan J. Dobriyal Thank you, urban forestry is indeed a very good one, green areas are mentioned so superficially in the 2030 Agenda. I am suprised that summer/winter deaths due to extreme temperatures were not directly addressed in the targets (strong link with SDG3, SDG13 and SDG7).
