If particles are big enough then EDS may be used to determine the Fe/Al atomic content ratio and thus identify the IMC. We did so when identifying the Fe/Al IMC formed on a steel FSW tool after welding aluminum alloys. This is simple way, all you need is to prepare a polished section view and then use SEM EDS.

Maybe you can try the EBSD, which is based on the crystal structure of phases. Meanwhile, you can do EBSD area mapping for the quantification.
