Dear all, I was wondering If anyone has any experience, whether RNAlater storage solution is a good preservative for thin mammalian skin samples. My main issue is, that the samples I take appear to mostly float on the solution and are not well immersed. Therefore, I worry that RNA might be signficantly degraded by the time it reaches permanent freezer storage and/or isolation procedure. I am unsure on how to "force" the samples to submerge, since they appear very hydrophobic and waxy, covered by epidermis on both sides.

Thank You for Your answers in advance.
