Does the underlying ethical metatheory has to be consequentialism?
For the purposes of research design, I believe "yes" or it will be a lot different concept. Virtue ethics might be more like representative democracy. Deontic ethics might be more like direct democracy,... Do you have interest in any other metatheory?
When it comes to individual respondent, she should be still able to answer according to other metatheories. On the other hand, it is not encouraged and questions have logic of consequentialism. "Consequentialism is the default of the questionnaire."
I guess you are not asking about data interpretation, I won't write about it.
In this research, consequentialism is my position. Might there be any reason why should I change it? As this topic is not directly related to the original question, I may call you and we may talk about it in Czech language and if there will be anything relevant we may post it back here.
I understand that consequentialism is appealing as it appears to be more susceptible to quantification than other metaethical theories. I just think it is wrong (in its "pure versions"). :-)
Well, wrong. To what purpose wrong? For example, it is wrong (poor tool) for education plans, it is wrong (poor tool) for moral dilemmas, but I believe it is strong tool for evaluation and comparison of past decisions. Isn't it? :)
Of course, I agree that it is. But it captures utility not morality. (And the proper ethical theory, in my opinion, should include not just consequences but habits, intentions, rules, etc)

It could be in the probability of teir habits, in this case virtues. Iam designing a formula to quantify the virtues by measuring the frequency of some actions

It is about measuring the virtues as a survey and cuantify them. Is in spanish, but I may be able to translate it. The idea is to show that we all have virtues, as a medical exam but with virtues
