Dear colleagues,
According to our data on orchids and pyroloids and published data of a range of researchers there is a significant enrichment in 13C in roots and rhizomes vs leaves in partially mycoheterotrophic (green mixotrophic) plants. It can mirror different carbon sources for those organs - fungal carbon gain for underground parts and photosynthesis for leaves. I`ve failed to find the data on 13C distribution within tissues of fully autotrophic (not presumably mixotrophic) green plants e.g. arbuscular mycorrhizal or non-mycorrhizal rhizome-forming species. Do they have the same as for mixotrophs pattern of 13C allocation within the plant, or not?
So I`ll be very grateful for sharing any information on the topic.
With thanks,
Elena
