I was just looking at their other cameras this morning. It looks like the Hyperfire ones are faster: https://www.reconyx.com/product/Professional_Series
I haven't used any of their cameras. I'm looking for a video camera that will do well recording small birds at close-ish range. Please let me know if you have any suggestions!
I was looking for a camera with close focus too, since I want to use it to study small mammals. HyperFire 2 (HP2XSMODGBP) has a high trigger speed (0.2 sec) and it was specifically designed to study small animals, thus it seems to me that this model may be a viable alternative to UltraFire. Anyway, I was wondering if other cameras with the same features but higher video resolution exist.
We used old bushnell HD, opened them, turned the lens by 180° to the left, and had a focus of about 25cm! You could also use a macro-lens (like in the citation). Not really necessary to use a different lens but a different focus!
The flash needs to be shaded...
