I want to increase energy efficiency for sensors nodes which present in Wireless Sensor Network. These sensor nodes sends/forwards information to mobile sink when it is near to that cluster. Entire information passes through only Cluster Head after that cluster head forwards the information through Rendezvous Node. So here I want to increase network life time.Any Algorithm or technique for increasing life time for WSN.
You may try to model a mathematical programming framework which maximizes network lifetime.
There are many techniques and protocols and algorithms which increase the lifetime of the network. Make your domain narrow further. On which layer you want to work. Using mimo technique (physical layer) you can increare life time of the network. Mac layer protocols like smac, tmac etc does the same. Using retransmission policy and proper congestion window size may helpful to increase the lifetime. I want to suggest one good paper in this domain. Just type on google- data aggregation in wsn. You will get one paper related to that. I dont remember the exact title.
Lot of works have been already proposed to design energy efficient MAC protocols for WSN... Pls refer to A to Z MAC Alphabet Soup from which u derive a new protocol if u r interested with MAC layer (http://www.st.ewi.tudelft.nl/~koen/MACsoup/)
Here energy spent of data aggregation has to be reduced. Aggregation is of two types- Structured and structure free aggregation. You just get latest survey paper of aggregation in Wireless sensor networks.

Energy Efficiency or increasing the life time of a WSN is a complicated problem and can be handled by a combination of many advancements in different layers of WSN protocol stack. Energy efficient MAC, energy efficient routing, effective congestion detection algorithms all play a part. Even the placement of nodes in the WSN are important some papers formulated mathematical formulation for the optimal node distribution strategy. Some researches worked on the use of relay nodes whose action is only to relay packets and not sensing and even the placement of those relay nodes depending on the distance from the Master Station are important. Efficient Cluster head selection, the size of cluster and frequency in updating the cluster member parameters all play a part in an efficient energy WSN design. Some even use data aggregation and others use on/off techniques for energy savings. You can search in google and you will get lot of papers in this subject.
There are a lot of ways to prolong node lifetime in wireless sensor network. but to do this in advance, you need a big combination of these fields, such as enhancing routing protocol, network coverage algorithm and cluster energy balancing.
but in my opinion, it's better to get started with routing protocol. so on, it will be much more easier to implement those solutions based on your routing protocol.
lastly, make sure that you read a lot of related papers. (so you might have any ideas to advance your job)
