You can look into STAP (space-time adaptive processing) an adaptive array processing technique used in Radars. The performance metric would be gain in target detection, and robustness against jamming and interference.
1-D adaptive filters are used in Bi-static passive radars for cancelling the interference from the transmitter. Cancellation performance can be measured by the amount of interference rejected in the output signal.
