Covid19 transmission has affected many individuals throughout the world. It is important to have the knowledge of those that are mostly affected based on age and gender. Do anyone have information on this?
Based on my experience as I've worked on two separate databases of COVID-19, the age effect on the mortality of infected patients is very remarkable, so that investigation of age in risk analysis, either continuously or categorically, can show very important results. As many studies showed, the senility of patients (Age>60 Y) who infected by COVID-19, is a major risk factor and can increase the odds of death significantly.
Also, on the other hand, the high addmission rate of males is highlighted in most studies and men have experienced more fatality due to COVID-19. However, as previous researches showed, being a man is not always a risk factor for the mortality of COVID-19 cases.
Finally, it can be concluded that being old is the most influential factor in the mortality of those who did not survive due to COVID-19. It is worth noting that, we shouldn't forget the important role of co-morbidities as a big risk factor.
Covid 19 infection can be there to all similarly but the severity depends upon various factors , i.g. age, race, personal habits , associated diseases, etc.
