After taking 3 cores horizontally on the same depth and homogenizing them, is it possible to measure the bulk density and the porosity?

Following the removal of 3 horizontal cores of soil within a sedimentary layer and after having mixed the 3 samples together, is it possible to measure the apparent density and the porosity of this sedimentary level? If possible, is it necessary to follow the standard procedure or it is necessary to follow a particular protocol? Thank you for your answers

Thank you for your answer ! The samples of each cores have been mixed together to form a only one sample. This last sample have been sub-sampled in different vials for the analysis.
