Hello Reddy, I don't really understand what you are looking for: AE is the spontaneous emission of structural waves (generally a succession of bursts) by mechanical structures under load, e.g. due to fibre ruptures or delamination in composite materials, but also friction in joints. There are no "wave form generators" in-the-loop, and the AE waveform results of the specific structure, wave propagation and loading characteristics of the investigated piece! It is exactly as the creaking noise of an old wooden floor when you walk-in... You need to do a lot of investigations on the material and precise construction before you interpret it as a "health status" of your structure, but when you reaches this point it provides a useful NDT option as you only need to implement "listening devices" (accelerometers, strain gages etc.)

Characteristic acoustic emission can be a signature of certain materials subject to stress or mechanical disruption. Certain metals can 'cry' when stressed while the breakage of glass(es) has certain specific acoustic emissions. There is a great deal of literature concerning this property but basically it concerned analysing the acoustic signature of a material under stress or disruption. Fourier analysis of an acoustic wave front emanating from stressed materials can characterise the material, but it is not necessarily a simple procedure as might be thought. You should research the subject, it is well investigated.
