Manikanta, the conventional way of non-destructive testing of materials is with use of ultrasonic testing. There are a number of technological challenges with US testing, most notably efficient acoustic coupling between the transmit/receive transducer and the material interface but there are known solutions to that.
i suggest you investigate these technologies in order to solve your problem, I have every reason to believe that aerospace and high-level Motorsport have been there before.....
