Very interesting project, I remember lots of coil breaks during my works as an R&D engineering . I didn't work in this problem, but I think that addition of Boron was an effective method which does not sacrifice the desired mechanical properties. You mentioned that annealing 20 hr at 700C is the an appropriate solution. Is this equal to the soaking time and temperature of batch annealing furnaces? I appreciate your answer.

It should be mentioned that according to my experience, high percentages of coil break are observed in the hot rolled steel coils. In this case, cold rolling and subsequent temper rolling cannot eliminate the problem.
