This is cheap, although a good quality and translucent one is recommended.

Aftersampling tape is just glued on a glass slide, and it is ready for microscope examination.

If you want to collect pollen from the plants, the best way is to collect the plant with its flower and put it inside a half folded paper. The paper will absorb the moist and the plant is dry after a few days. Then you should take a sample from the anther of the flower and acetolyze it. Acetolysis is the only treatment needed for pollen analysis of the plant samples.

A benefit of this method is that the plant can be preserved for many years and whenever needed a pollen sample can be collected from the plant. Additionally the plant can be accurately identified by botanists if it you do not know the plant.
