I'm building a vibrothermography model with a coupled electro-thermal-mechanical step, where a piezoelectric actuator generates ultrasonic waves that are transmitted to a material, where the energy scatters at defects in the form of heat. Frictional rubbing of asperities at the crack is responsible of this, so I had to definitely frictional coefficients at the crack planes.
I did it by chosing "General contact" in the interaction and excluding the cracks from the whole model. Then a special property is assigned to these surface. Nevertheless, Abaqus refuses to propagate the interaction to the last step as illustrated in the screenshot enclosed. Any idea why? What could I do instead?
