I am building a software simulator (an artificial neural network) of the auditory pre-cortical region. For that purpose I need to train the neural network with certain complex auditory stimuli - which, after passing the cochlea, will be enriched by the inter-modulatory spectral components. By having a good mathematical model of the cochlear transmission function, and incorporating it in the software, I could calculate all the spectral components that would be produced by a complex 5-tone stimulus and train the neural network with it. Could someone point me to an article describing such a mathematical model?
