Can the size of an empty micelle be larger than the size of the micelle in which the ingredient is encapsulated?

The particle size distribution of the micelles was measured using a particle size analyzer. The dv 50 value of the empty micelles was about 2 um larger than the dv 50 of the encapsulated micelles....
