What could be the reason for increased OD (instead of decreasing) with increasing standard conc. in alkaline DMSO method (NBT assay) ?

I am using alkaline DMSO method (NBT dye) for superoxide anion scavenging. According to principle of this assay there should be decrease in absorbance with increase in ascorbic acid concentration....
