Can anybody tell the difference between BMDM and immortalized BMDM cells?

1.i want to knockdown genes in BMDM. BMDM can be transfected with antisense RNA, but BMDM can't replicate. so how can i develop my next step experiment? 2. I know BMDM cells can be immortalized....
