Why is the PL intensity of PMMA/KCaVO4;Sm very low compared to Pure KCaVO4;Sm

The PL intensity of pure Phosphor KCaVO4;Sm is about 1000 a.u. whereas that of film is 15 a.u. Is it because PMMA shows resistance to UV radiations.

I have doped KCaVo4;Sm with PMMA but it has very low intensity as compared to the pure phosphor. Intensity of pure powder is about 1000 a.u. whereas that of film is 15 a.u.

Intensity of pure phosphor is about 1000 a.u. where that of polymer/phosphor film is about 70 a.u.
