Can anyone suggest a few good recent papers who have set up in a lab and evlaued a private cloud, what are the perfromance parameters ?

Students are setting up a private cloud, what software to use to evaluate the cloud and what parameters to measure ?  Could anyone mention a few good papers in set-up and evaluation of private cloud ?
