How can I get good/clear confocal images (PI staining and GFP)of cell files of old root tips (more than 10 DAG grown in MS plates)??

Confocal images of young root tips stained with propidium is very fine/clear. But after age of about 10 Days after germination, the confocal images are blurred. PI didnot reach inside root tip....
