Can we use labelled probes for in situ hybridization?

The probes I use are BHQ-FAM labelled, sequence specific probes. I am out of primers and would like to utilize the spare probes.

Is it possible to identify species origin for cells based on their cell density?

How can we distinguish cells of the same morphology if they are from different species? I understand karyotyping can be done to distinguish the chromosome numbers, but are there any other methods?
