How undergraduate students can build an electro-mechanical or magnetic shaker for modal analysis of beams in the frequency range up to 5000 hz?

The modal shaker are normally expensive so I want to ask from my undergraduate student to produce a shaker in lower cost for modal analysis of simple beam and plates.
