Dear colleagues: please about the type of bacteria that can be tested Is it possible to use bacteria isolated from patients or from sewage?

for antibacterial activity, can we use other than standard isolates (as ATCC strains) for the purpose of knowing the effectiveness of certain herbs or any tested drug? regards
