Can anyone help with a protocol that allows me to extract a single hydrophilic nonapeptide from a whole rat brain for LCMS analysis?

Trying to detect an endogenous neuropeptide at very low concentrations (basal pM concentration, about 1ug total peptide in a single rat brain). Antibodies are not an option. Has 1 disulfide bond....

Want to try out a new method. Threonine-rich would work too.
