What is the best way to calculate sample size in path analysis?

I have 28 parameters and therefore I figure that I'll need 280 participants at a minimum? Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks

Can you do an ANOVA on path analysis data?

I have done a path diagram that involves 5 observed variables. I'm wondering if I want to analyze the effect of gender on that diagram what analysis would I do? Thanks?
