We have been studying p53 isoforms and have found many RNAs with "intronic" sequences not spliced. Any idea the etiology of this?

We use total RNA from a panel of cell lines and cDNA synthesis with oligo dTs and/or random hexamers and then PCR spanning multiple exons.
