How can I load .DAT files created by Fetchex version 6.0.3. (pclamp, Molecular Devices) in Igor, Matlab, or any other program?

My problem is that when I load the files .DAT created by Fetchex (version 6.0.3) in Matlab or Igor to analyze the spikes, the file is loaded with strange characters or is corrupted, respectively....
