Is there any experimental techniques to know whether a polymer ( not a protein molecule) having helical structure,like m-helical or p-helical?

How we can say that one polymer is M-helical or P-helical? I'm eager to know about polymers like poly(diphenylacetylene), not about the usual proteins like DNA helicity. How we can prove this...
