Does anyone know the identity/kinetics of compounds released by tires into topsoil (i.e. non-landfilled, semi-buried in topsoil, exposed to sunlight)?

My personal interest in this follows an increase in publicity and advocation of "sustainable urban gardening", i.e. using discarded materials such as old tires to create subsistence container...
