Why ZnO NWs are tilted at certain angle but not exactly vertically aligned when grown using Hydrothermal method?

Please see the attached cross-sectional view of ZnO NWs down by Hydrothermal method. What is physics behind for the Nano-wires to be tilted at certain angle?
