How to accurately measure the leaf area of a leaf that is not thin flattened, but rod-shaped? Thanks a lot.

I want to calculate leaf succulence, then the leaf area should be measured. However, for  some plants( eg. succulent plants), their leaves are rod-shaped. And the usual method may not be suitable....
