Could metaphase chromosomes take a zigzag-like pattern ?

So, I did a sister chromatid exchange and cromosomal aberrations assay in order to evaluate the genotoxicity of a drug . the metaphase chromosomes were in a zigzag shape , so I wonder is it normal ?
