What happens if we prohibit the cytokinesis but not the karyokinesis?

Karyokinesis and cytokinesis are parts of cell cycle.As per my thinking, if we stop cytokinesis, nucleus with its genetic material will devide but not the cell membrane. Will cell get burst itself...
