Does anyone know if there is a virus/serotype that works well to infect pyramidal neurons in the hippocampus of 30 month old rats?

Seems like even if virus works with young animals expression is pretty low in aged ones...but maybe there is something better and preferably not pathogenic...some AAV serotype that may work with...
