If I am trying to transfect HEK cells, what is the benefit of using one transcript variant of my gene of interest over another?

The data sheets online for the variants describe differences in ORF size and RefSeq Size. I'm sure this is relevant, I'm just new to the field and am still getting my bearings. Thank you!
