What could be the reasons if a fluorophore is giving fluorescence on another wavelength instead of its own w avelength??

In the fluorescence imaging, I am getting fluorescence at 800 nm instead of 690 nm. What could be the reasons behind this??

Can we determine the size of nanoparicles from the AFM image whose size is in micro metres??? If yes, then by which software??
