Which is the better gradually organic solvent: polar to nonpolar or non polar to polar used for plant extraction?

I would like to macerate the plants with organic solvent but I have the choice between extract from polar to nonpolar or nonpolar to polar organic solvents. Which one is better? Thank you so much
