I am starting a project on the translation of a visually oriented paper product to an audio-description equivalent, shared as a MP3; any precursors?

The source material for me is a National Park Service "unigrid" brochure; the end product will be an audio-description equivalent, so a purely audio form, probably MP3, shared via mobile devices....
